Endless Prose: A Text Adventure Game

Endless Prose: A Text Adventure Adventure

Endless adventure games have been here all this while, it has stayed for a long time, and it even scares me seeing the date some of this games were released, though I don't know the exact date. When I was learning python, a Programming language, I just played around with a text based adventure game. I was looking for projects to create, so I created a text adventure game. It was fun though, but I only added few stages to it, let's say if you go right, and then another option to do something, and the you choose to do it or not, then one last option to win or lose. That's was what I did, I did not added more features to it to make more fun, but it was fine with me.
Now let's talk about more serious project - Endless Prose.

Endless Prose is been created by Matt Timmermans a solo game developer. It seems like he have a passion and love  for creating Text Adventure games. According to him, he created two text adventure games when he was a Kid, he also has two text adventure games on itch.io, which are: Epic Prose and Epic Prose SE. This should make it the fifth text adventure games that  he has created.

So what would make someone like Matt to create this kind of game?
According to him "Endless Prose is  inspired by my passion for procedural generation and text adventures"
So not only love and passion for the game, but also the passion to create a endless text game.
The goal of this game is to create a randomly procedural or endless generated world, characters and even the story, to make an endless game

According to him "Text adventures can be a really imaginative form of expression, you can create impossible or impractical scenes, such as non-Euclidian geometry or mazes that defy physical laws.
It gives the freedom to create complex game mechanics without the complexity of graphics, so it's a great way to test out and prototype ideas."
Matt is taking this game very seriously, in his devlog, he stated that, This would be his most ambitious text adventure game yet. He plans to add other features to the game, a complex society, where there would be consequences for actions performed in the game, and political interactions.
This is aimed at having a complex interactions, and emergent story telling.

Matt is using his project to work and test OpenAI's language model, ChatGPT, to speed up his development.
And if you're wondering what ChatGPT is, then let me explain.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence. Yes artificial intelligence or AI. This AI is been trained on providing answers to do many questions, it even and also provides code. Developers and people across and or around the world are using it to there advantage, to fast forward or speed up the process of there tasks.

He wrote some devlogs about his process of creating this game, he also shared some codes he used in his project which would be found in the game page on itch.io.
All his devlogs can be found Here
He talked about deferent challenges he faced, and he shares his experience in creating this game.
Endless Prose is to be submitted for a contest, according to him, so the game would be available for download after that. If you have a itch.io account, you can follow him, so you will know when he releases this game, I know you would love to play it.
Follow him here:- Follow Matt on itch.io or view his games
Also, if you want to view Endless Prose game page, you can view it with this link:- Endless Prose
If you want to contact Matt, you can find his Twitter handle on his itch.io page, or you can contact me in contact form, so I will get to him, and give you a comfortable means, or link of communicating with him.
Final Words
Text adventure games can tell someones story, it can talk about one life, passion and desires. Just playing the game could give you an idea of why the developer created the game, which will tell you there story. As for Matt, he is driven by passion to create this games, games that tells the story of someone (not necessarily the developer, it could be anyone or just an imagination).

As a game developer, I am starting to think, this would be a good idea for me, which is for me to create my own text adventure game. Not to tell my story, but because I see inspiration in it.

RGB

Introduction RGB is a color code. It is used to represent how much "Red, Green, and Blue", is in a color. RGB starts its Value from 0 to 255. The values for each color is usually separated by a comma (,) or a semicolon (;). The color is usually represented as RGB (255,255,255), RGB (255, 0, 0). If all values are "0", the color would be "Black", if all values are "255", the color would be white, then if a (one of the) value is "255", the color would either be "RED", "GREEN", or "BLUE", depending on the position of the value. This kind of value (color code) is used in a lot of applications, from painting apps, on your devices, to many other applications. Some applications, do not use semicolon or comas to separate there values, instead, the use text input, for you to input your own value for each color (RED, GREEN, BLUE), which will then be computed to bring out another color, or a desired color. This game wa...
